English Heritage site run by Dorset District Council. Fishing College located in the building at the end of The Cobb. Local sailing club and sea school as well as power boat club and Boat Building academy in the vicinity. Local fishing boats operate all year round and day tripper boats operate regularly in the Summer.

The Harbour reaches from the sea all the way up to Kingsbridge and its high water quality and peaceful surroundings are enjoyed by a number of water users: bathers, canoeists, stand-up paddleboards, dinghies, yawls, yachts, power boats and super yachts. Salcombe Harbour is an eco-port and in recent years the harbour has approved trials of a modified swing moorings with additional floats to help minimise or stop scour and protect the seabed.

Falmouth Harbour is one of the largest natural deep-water harbours in the world and just outside Falmouth, in the sheltered waters of the Fal Estuary, is Falmouth Marina. Set in a designated area of outstanding natural beauty, the estuary offers up to twelve miles of glorious boating water that stretches as far as the cathedral city of Truro with numerous creeks, wooded shorelines, quays and churches to explore along the way.
